Quick Media Converter - Powerful Video and Audio Conversion Tool
Media refers to a multitude of file formats. Take video files, for example – there’s AVI, WMV, MPEG, FLV and many more. The same can be said about audio files. With such an abundance of files, you may encounter a situation where you need to convert a media file. For example, you may need to convert an AVI file to MPEG or even MP3. If that need arises, rest assured that Quick Media Converter is there for you.
The first thing you need to know about Quick Media Converter is that it will convert pretty much any audio and video file from one format to another. The second thing you need to know about this piece of software is that you can use it free of charge. With that in mind, I don’t think you’ll have a problem with putting Quick Media Converter through its paces. After all, it doesn’t cost you anything to do so.
Here is something for the savvy computer user: Quick Media Converter is based on the powerful command line tool FFmpeg. To use FFmpeg you really need to be a tech savvy user with some command line experience under your belt. To use Quick Media Converter, you can be as green as they come (tech savvy green that is). Thanks to its user friendly graphical front end, using Quick Media Converter is as simple as dragging and dropping items you wold like to convert into the application. Then you need only select an output format and wait for Quick Media Converter to finish the job.
Some free pieces of software that do the same job as Quick Media Converter come with nag screens that urge you to upgrade to a full version, or they put a logo on the media they convert, thus breaking the user experience. Quick Media Converter does no such thing. It can be used at absolutely no cost to you. For no money whatsoever, you get an application that does just what it says: easily and quickly convert media from one format to another. You can use Quick Media Converter for as long as you like, safe in the knowledge that it does not come bundled with spyware or malware. There is one little catch though - Quick Media Converter works only with the Windows operating system.
The installation process is straightforward and gets the program installed in matter of seconds. It takes up about 40 MB of hard disk space and it's gentle with the system resources. The interface of Quick Media Converter features a simple mode that allows the user to select one of the many video profiles available. Each profile has its own settings and the user doesn't need to configure anything. Advanced users can use the complex mode which allows them to configure every detail of the configuration process. More than one video file can be added to the program, for automatically converting them one by one.
Pros:
It features a lot of video profiles that automatically set all the options for the conversion process. Moreover, an advanced mode is available, which lets the user configure all the conversion parameters. Furthermore, it supports a wide range of video formats.
Cons:
The interface seems difficult to use at first due to the fact that buttons are used instead of menus. Spending a few moments with the program will fix this problem.
Quick Media Converter is a complete video conversion utility that supports an impressive list of video formats.
